How Does Laser Teeth Whitening Work?

There are many reasons why are teeth becomes discoloured or stained, the majority of stains are caused by diet and lifestyle such as smoking, eating dark coloured foods or drinking red wine.  Although as time goes on in our lives there will be some change in our teeth colour which is unavoidable.  Certain medications can also have an impact on our teeth without us even realising.

Nowadays people are becoming more and more aware of their appearances and because of the affordable prices, are now turning to teeth whitening solutions to achieve that brilliant white smile.

So Whats Involved

Firstly your current tooth shade is determined, you will then be provided with protected eyewear and flexi blue cheek retractors are placed in your mouth, a blue seal is then applied to the gum line and cured to prevent any gel leaking onto the gums.  A protective lip balm is applied to the lips to prevent drying out.  A 2-3mm layer of the whitening gel is then applied to the teeth, the whitening accelerator is positioned in front of the teeth and the first treatment is carried out, this will be repeated a total of three times and last no longer than 30 minutes.  The end results will be whiter brighter teeth.

The science behind this technology – When the gel is applied to the surface of the tooth tiny oxygen bubbles are released which penetrates the surface of the tooth, using the whitening accelerator the tiny cells that makes up the enamel opens up allowing the gel to penetrate through the tooth producing an even white tooth from the inside out.
